Local Housing Allowance only applies to new benefit claims received on or after 7th April 2008. It will not apply to tenants of housing associations or those tenants living in caravans or mobile homes. These groups will still have their Housing Benefit worked out under the existing rules.  If board and lodging is included as part of the tenancy the existing rules will also apply.
