Private landlord Phillip Cockburn has 22 house in 3 streets in Castletown, Sunderland and he is not a happy man. In protest to the lack of regeneration support by Sunderland Council Mr Cockburn has resorted to writing graffiti across his own properties in order to bring the matter to the attention of the media.

Slogans such as 'no more bull' and 'attention please' have been sprayed on some of his houses to highlight the apparent lack of urgency on behalf of the council to bring forward plans to set out a regeneration programme to tackle the areas inherent social and housing problems. The Private landlord, some of his tenants and other community members are requesting a face to face meeting with Sunderland Council representatives to discuss the problems as a matter of urgency.
