The Aims Of The Bolton Landlord Accreditation Scheme

Bolton as a community is developing different methods of engaging with and communicating with private sector landlords that recognise and support responsible landlords in dealing effectively with issues and problems, combining the use of voluntary Accreditation and the development of Bolton Accredited Residential Landlord Organisation as a positive incentive.
 
This is backed up by a tougher approach to enforcement with the use of existing powers and tools to take action against those landlords whose properties or poor tenants continue to cause misery to their neighbours and communities.
 
The project's principle aim is to tackle low demand in the private rented sector in five target areas of Bolton by resolving issues related to poor property standards and tenancy management practices.
 
The project is delivered by Bolton at Home on behalf of the Council and is just one of a range of initiatives and projects to improve the private rented sector, that provide access to services and support for private landlords and their tenants to enable them to meet their obligations and responsibilities.
