The Rent Collection Service from R. James Hutcheon Solicitors is a low cost rent collection and landlords legal protection service for private residential landlords in the UK. The Brighton and Hove Landlords Accreditation Scheme has been developed to reflect the enormous role of the private rented sector in
providing accommodation throughout Brighton & Hove. The local council runs the scheme and a key goal of the programme is
for good and ethical landlords who consistently maintain high
standards within the private rented sector to be rewarded accordingly via the accreditation scheme.
Brighton & Hove Council started Landlord Accreditation Scheme so that the best private landlords can be recognised and rewarded, and to help others raise their standards of property maintenance and management.
The scheme formally recognises flats and houses in good condition, which are safe, secure and well managed for the benefit of the tenants who rent them.
The council employs a Development Officer to run the scheme and identify incentives which will mean real benefits to landlords who join. The Development Officer can also act as a liaison between the accredited landlords and council officers as appropriate.
The Quality Standards Needed To Gain AccreditationThe standards for accreditation can be divided into two component parts. They relate to the physical standards of the property and the standards of tenant management as set out below.
